I'm a visual communicator who has over a decade of both hands-on and direction experience with Branding, Corporate Identity, Web Design, Application Design, Graphic Design, Advertising, and Motion Graphics. Having a wide range of skill sets helps me keep an eye on the "big picture", borrow from different design disciplines and use technology creatively. My work addresses business goals; it is user-centric and concept-driven, backed by research and balanced by intuition; finally, it emphasizes content and message rather than style and trend. I believe that a strong designer is guided more by an “inner artistic standard of excellence”(1) than by external influence.

In the past year I have been primarily working as a consultant for Goldman Sachs. Some of my recent work will be incorporated into this site soon. Consensus and expectation management were some of the main challenges, as were gathering, defining and refining business requirements into workable design documentation. The design challenges included the redesign of the firm's institutional client portal, Goldman 360, a highly personalized portal with communication, collaboration and research tools, and establishing a common look and common components for trading applications, plotting applications, fund management tools and web sites of different groups within the firm.
In today's distressed economic climate, I recall what Paul Rand said: “Simplicity is not the goal. It is the by-product of a good idea and modest expectations.“ With this approach it would be possible to create more durable, sustainable design solutions.
